Text: Luke 6.12-13

There are some lessons we can only learn in the context of a life-on-life connection. Luke 6.12-13 shows Jesus believed this as well: though he had many followers, he chose only twelve men to become his inner-circle, to see first-hand how life should be lived. We call this environment of discipleship The Circle. It’s in the context of community where we translate “head knowledge” to “heart transformation.”

In Luke 17.4 Jesus says, “Even if they sin against you seven times in a day, and seven times come back to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.” While it may be easy to understand, it’s definitely not easy to put this kind of forgiveness into practice. This command of Jesus is a perfect example of why we need to live in The Circle, in a life-on-life connection.

At Ada Bible Church we believe this happens best in the context of a small group, when we gather in living rooms or café corners to live out the commands of Jesus together. We believe every person needs to be involved in some kind of small group. If you’re not, we’d like to invite you to Group Launch, Sunday, January 25 at your campus from 4-6 p.m. to get connected to a new small group. Sign up here.
