Test:  Acts 3.11-26

And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, [Jesus] explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. – Luke 24.27

When Jesus appears to the men on the road, he explains the Scriptures to them. In today’s reading, we see Peter doing the same. Peter points to several ways Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies: he was the promised offspring of Abraham who blessed all people (Acts 3.25), the foretold prophet like Moses who speaks with authority (Acts 3.22), and the Messiah who had to suffer and return to heaven before restoring all things (Acts 3.18-21).

Jesus is and always will be the centerpiece to the grand story of Scripture! We can’t miss this! Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection is the culmination of God revealing himself to us. God the Father sent Jesus back to appear in resurrected form to emphasize this point.

As you reflect on the ways Jesus is the foundation, the focus, and the linchpin of the grand story of the Bible, listen to “That’s My King” by S.M. Lockridge.
