Text: 2 Corinthians 4.4-7
Before causing our world to take shape in time and space, God determined to reveal himself to humankind. Beginning with creation, his early appearances, and prophetic word in the Old Testament, God allowed the rumor of his covenant promise to spread, pointing all creation to the pinnacle of his revelation: Jesus Christ. “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form” (Colossians 2.9).

When Jesus appears, he speaks of his heavenly Father and the Spirit who empowers him. He models a life of perfect love, trust, and obedience. He conquers sin by taking its raw punishment for us, and defeats death with a miraculous resurrection. All these demonstrate both the incredible character of God and his extraordinary love for mere clay vessels.

Today, take a few minutes to write down the aspects of God’s character you understand as you meditate on the person and work of Jesus.
