Text:  2 Corinthians 5.17-21

As the Apostle Paul writes to the believers in Corinth, he includes this incredible encouragement: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come…All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation” (2 Corinthians 5.17-18).

Not only is God at work rescuing the whole world, he’s invited us into the incredible work of reconciliation. In fact, Paul goes on to call us “ambassadors.” We’re the physical representation of Jesus here on earth.

We’re called to release our old identity to embrace the identity of Jesus, essentially the work of an ambassador. And the payoff is, we carry a name that far outweighs any other name in all history. His name is weightier than any president or monarch who ever existed. We carry the name of Jesus and, with it, all the authority and privilege of his reconciling work.

Take a few minutes now to write down some reasons you’re thankful God has included you in his work of reconciliation. Consider the privilege of being an ambassador for Christ and allow this reality to fuel incredible gratitude in you. Share your list with someone in your small group or a close friend.
