Psalm 1

This past weekend Pastor Jeff Manion walked us through the third installment of the series Reveal. God has revealed himself in all of creation and he’s revealed himself in Scripture so we might worship him and learn how he wants us to live. And we know the cultivation of a life worth having is not something that happens by accident.

Like a tree that develops deep roots and healthy fruit, the “blessed” life is the result of years of sustained growth. Psalm 1 reminds us this happens by delighting in God’s Word day and night (Psalm 1.2). It’s a practice of quieting our hearts before God to hear from him and be heard by him. At Ada Bible Church, we believe this happens powerfully in The Chair—that time when we shut out all the other noises of life to listen to God and share our hearts with him.

No matter where you are on your journey, today is a great day to begin the habit of quieting the noises of this life in order to spend time reading God’s Word and praying to him. Maybe this is a habit you’ve once practiced, but have recently forgotten. We’d like to invite you to start or restart this habit. Commit today to spending at least three days this week in The Chair. Allow God to speak into your life and take time to share your heart with him.
