Psalm 100

A life contemplating the blessings of Christ becomes a life acting the love of Christ. ~ One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp
Gratitude is at the heart of living the life of fullness God desires for us. The Psalms in the Old Testament are filled with beautiful verses contemplating the blessings of God and expressing deep gratitude in song.

The truth is, gratitude can be one of the most powerful tools against a negative attitude. We are inundated with God’s incredible blessings—they’re all around us all the time. But we tend to get tunnel vision on the one or two challenges we’re experiencing that moment. God is aware of these challenges and wants you to trust him to walk you through it.

The advent of the Christmas season is joyful, but for many people it can be a season of anxiety, conflict, or added stress. It doesn’t have to be this way and gratitude might be your best tool at changing things.

Whenever you begin to feel stressed or anxious, take a minute to thank God for three blessings you’ve experienced that day. Be specific and think small, like thanking him for the foam on your cappuccino, the smile from your 3-year-old when you come down the stairs, and the warmth of your jacket. Training our hearts toward gratitude brings glory to God and blessings to us.
