TODAY’S MESSAGE

The world around us is truly amazing. God’s goodness is evident in his creation. A beautiful sunset, a warm smile and a home cooked meal all shout of the goodness of God’s creation.

God recognized the goodness of his creation. A recurring theme in the Psalms is summed up by David in Psalm 19:1 when he writes, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” There is a lot of good around us.

Developing a joyful heart helps us see the good around us. It can be easy to focus on the negative. We are bombarded with 24-hour news, sports, gossip and financial shows. Our phone notifications barrage us with unpleasant information.

We will tend toward misery unless we deliberately choose to see the good in the world around us. When we see something good, we need to remind ourselves “there is something good here.”

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Continue the 21-day challenge by writing down no fewer than three unique things you are thankful for from God’s creation. What are the things—that when you see them—will remind you to say, “there is something good here”?
