December 6 | God’s Good Works in Me

December 6, 2017

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

… he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6b

Read: Philippians 1:4-6

Listen: Philippians 1

TODAY’S MESSAGE

The Jesus message wholly changed Paul’s life. He was redirected from persecutor to persuader. Instead of hunting down Jesus-followers, he begins traveling the world telling others about Jesus.

Paul understood what Jesus’ work on the cross meant for his life and how the teachings of Jesus were reshaping his character. Paul desired for the Philippians to live out of their experience of God’s radical generosity by rejoicing “in the Lord.”

You have experienced God’s radical generosity if you are a Jesus-follower. Jesus gave his life on the cross for you, and his teaching can reshape our character. The Holy Spirit wants to partner with us to transform us into the character of Jesus. A joyful heart helps us choose to focus on what God has done for us and in us.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Consider whether you have accepted God’s radical generosity. God desires a relationship with you and stepped into the world to make it happen. He offers you life—both eternally and true life now. If you have a question or would like to start a conversation about accepting God’s radical generosity, email us at btw@adabible.org. Continue the 21-day challenge by writing down at least three spiritual things you are thankful for that God has done in you.
