TODAY’S MESSAGE

We have a God who understands our feelings. He experienced first-hand rejection, ridicule, abandonment and shame. At his most vulnerable moment in the Garden of Gethsemane, even Jesus cried out in agony to God. He found peace as he expressed his feelings and accepted God’s will. Our God has experienced extreme emotional and physical suffering. When we are anxious and afraid—he knows, and he understands.

God is like a good parent who wants his children to come to him when they are hurting and in trouble. He doesn’t just want to hear what’s wrong but cares about our feelings. Senior Pastor Jeff Manion suggests we Ask, Thank and Trust (remember it by AT&T). Crying out to him is a way of expressing confidence and trust in his love and promises even if we never get what we want. Watch the video clip below as Pastor Manion explains how to Ask.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Willingness to express your anxious feelings to God and accept his will is another level of going deeper in your relationship with him. Express your feelings to God today in an area of anxiety. Use AT&T today to journal a prayer asking for his peace, like the Psalmist who says, “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them… The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:17-18).
