TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness endures forever.” 2 Corinthians 9:8-9

Read: 2 Corinthians 9:6-11

Listen: 2 Corinthians 9

TODAY’S MESSAGE

The Apostle Paul is talking about us when he says God “scattered abroad his gifts to the poor.” We are the poor who desperately need his gift of grace. This gift came to us in the person of Jesus Christ. We were enemies of God, and still he came to give himself for us (Colossians 1:21-22). God gave everything to make us his own.

We don’t practice generosity to garner rewards from God somehow. We do it simply to reflect the very character of him. It delights God when we shower blessings on those around us. When we do this—we become his image-bearers.

We must practice the art of generosity. Remember, it doesn’t happen automatically. We need to train our hearts to trust God little by little. As we move towards generosity, we begin to experience the freedom and blessing of living in God’s Kingdom.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Take a moment today to consider again God’s incredible love and generosity towards us. Listen to the song Grace to Grace by Hillsong Worship. May the power of the God’s love for us draw us towards lives of radical generosity to others.
