TODAY’S MESSAGE

The early Jesus communities struggled with living out their faith just like we do. They needed encouragement and reminders of how to live a life where grace spills out. That’s why Paul wrote them letters like the one he wrote to the church in Galatia. Paul encourages the people of this young church to look for opportunities to meet the needs around them. He tells them that when they see an opportunity—they should respond.

Paul’s instructions are important to us two millennia later. Meeting needs is a two-step process. It isn’t enough to say we want to be generous. It’s not enough to recognize a need. We need to both recognize the opportunity and then follow through with some kind of action.

God brings opportunities into our life. Often, we miss them as we go through life without even looking. When we do see a need—we sometimes see it as interfering with our life. In reality, it might be a divine appointment. God may be bringing this opportunity into our life at this moment so that we can be an answer to someone’s prayer.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY
