TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Genesis 28:15 (NIV)

Read: Genesis 28:12-15

Listen: Genesis 28

TODAY’S MESSAGE

Jacob thinks he is all alone when he lays down his head on his pillow-rock. But while he sleeps, he has a dream of a giant stairway leading up into heaven with angels ascending and descending. God himself appears to Jacob in the dream and affirms the words of blessings passed down to him through Abraham and Isaac.

It seems Jacob is very far from home, but God is not far from Jacob. God has a plan to bless humankind and Jacob is very much still to be a part of that plan. This is true for us as well, even in the midst of deep family conflict.

In the challenges we face, we might be wondering, “where is God?” God is not far away. And he desires to use us deeply to bless those around us.

It’s important to remember, God doesn’t wait to invite us into his plan till we have everything perfect and put together. He is with us now, inviting us to participate with him in and through the mess. God can use you, no matter the circumstances, to bless your family.
