TODAY’S MESSAGE

Our places of deepest pain can sometimes become the wellspring of our most profound service to others. We heal as we surrender our pain to God and trust what Christ has done in our life. Often God seems pleased to use those healed wounds to help others heal as well.

Joseph was abused by his brothers when they sold him into slavery. Instead of nursing bitterness and hate towards his brothers, he nurtured his heart toward dependence on God. It’s because Joseph had healed that he became the source of rescue for his family.

In an amazing statement, Joseph declares to his brothers, “It was not you who sent me here, but God(Genesis 45:8a).  Joseph was sent before his family to Egypt to provide a way of escape from the impending famine.

Each of us should be open to how God might use us in the lives of others. We move forward courageously as God puts passions in our heart to serve and care for those around us. Sometimes the road to being a healer is not clear—but serving and caring for those God puts in your path is a great place to start. Watch this video clip as Senior Pastor Jeff Manion explores this healing.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

As we conclude the sermon series Finding Hope in Family Conflict, we’ve come to grasp how God can and does work in, through and around even our most difficult experiences. One of those ways he works in us is to redeem our pain to serve and alleviate the pain of others. Pray and ask God to use you in the lives of those around you.
