TODAY’S MESSAGE

We all have a father—whether we knew him or not, whether he was a good father or a bad one, or whether we saw him every day or twice in our life. Thinking about our fathers is an emotional topic no matter if our feelings are good, bad or in-between.

Perhaps no picture of God stirs up more emotions than the concept of him as Father. Yet, the child in the manger is the Everlasting Father—an always family member.

Christmas may feel a little empty for some of us this year. The pain is real whether we are missing father, mother, husband, wife, sister, brother, son, daughter, grandmother, grandfather, or friend. In the midst of our pain, God desires to be our Everlasting Father. God is a good dad.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Matthew 1.22-23 gives Jesus another name, Immanuel—God with us. He is with us in the pain and the loneliness. He is a good dad who loves us and cares for us. Our good dad longs to hear from us and be with us. As you spend time with your Everlasting Father today, take time to journal your gratitude to your good dad.
