TODAY’S MESSAGE

It was a day no one would ever forget. Baal didn’t respond, the fire of Yahweh consumed an altar and its sacrifice, Baal’s prophets are executed—and it rained. A pretty big deal because it hadn’t rained in more than three years. The heavens opened, and it began to pour. The dry, parched ground finally soaked up water to grow crops and feed the people. A season of blessing begins for Israel.

God very much wants us home when we drift. So much so that he often gives us a season of blessing like we have never seen. God can bestow blessings in many ways. It can be the blessing of his grace when someone comes to know Jesus. Or the blessing of a restored relationship. Or maybe a new opportunity. All of these are blessings from a God who delights in sending the rain. Begin the journey back home, and you will find that God wants to meet you along the way.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Listen to Vertical Worship’s “Open the Gates,” a worship song we’ve sung the past two weeks at Ada Bible. Use the words of the song, “We know the best is yet to come” to remind you of God’s desire to bless us in surprising ways. Ask God to help you recognize his blessings in ways you have never noticed before.
