TODAY’S MESSAGE

Easter guarantees our future as Jesus’ death and resurrection broke death. It no longer holds power from our rebelling against God. The resurrection was the fulfillment of God’s promise to not abandon us to our sin. It is the culmination of a plan God hinted at in Genesis 3 and throughout the pages of the Bible.

We do not know what today or tomorrow will bring. We don’t know whether it will be sunny, rainy or even snowy. In many ways, our life is uncertain. One certain thing is the life Jesus offers for today and the future. A future with no tears, no death, no pain—because God is making everything new. Jesus boldly proclaims, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true” (Revelation 21:1-5). The words are so important that they needed to be preserved because we need them. We need to know there is certainty in the person and work of Jesus. That’s what Easter is about.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

As we close out the week following Easter, reflect on Revelation 21:1-5. In your own words write God’s promise for your future. Put it somewhere where you can see it and remember it.
