TODAY’S MESSAGE

There are almost 2 billion followers of Islam worldwide—about 25% of the world. Perhaps no religion has generated the headlines or had the opportunity to be misunderstood in the last few decades than Islam. Christianity and Islam are the two largest religions, and there are some critical differences between them.

In this series, What’s the Difference, we are looking at the differences between faiths. We want to be honest about two things. First, we want to treat other religions fairly and not look at them in the worst possible light. Second, we want to recognize the differences and not blur all religious belief into one. In today’s world, we find ourselves interacting with neighbors, co-workers, and classmates who practice a different religion than we do. This series helps us understand others better and grow in our own beliefs.

This week, we examine some of the critical difference between Christianity and Islam. These differences center on the person and message of Jesus. Our understanding of what Jesus accomplished for us on the cross should become clearer through this comparison. Our love for Jesus should grow as we examine these differences.
