TODAY’S MESSAGE

Angry Jews from Thessalonica hunt Paul down in Berea, determined to run him out of yet another town. The brand-new Berean believers waste no time. They didn’t spend days strategizing a plan and mapping out possible solutions. They immediately got to work helping Paul. They didn’t just send him on his way. They traveled with him. The trip to Athens was a month-long journey over 200 miles. The Bereans show their love for Jesus by putting their plans on hold and spending their personal wealth to help Paul continue to share the Gospel.

God has work for us to do today. Paul later teaches the Corinthians that the church is Christ’s body. “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it” (1 Corinthians 12:27). Each part of Christ’s body has an essential and necessary role to play. We build Christ’s body and further his work as we teach the Bible to a small group of children, greet people at the church entrance, provide technical skills in a sound booth or cook meals for sick members. We show our love for Jesus as we step into his work and serve.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY
