Wednesday: It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 1 Corinthians 12:14

Read: 1 Corinthians 12:12-14

Listen: 1 Corinthians 12

TODAY’S MESSAGE

In 1 Corinthians, Paul helps us understand all people who have trusted Christ as their Savior collectively function like a human body. God gives us individual gifts through his Holy Spirit that are meant to grow the entire body and spread the Gospel. Just as a physical body needs all its parts to function, Christ’s body needs each believer to use their gifts to fulfill God’s purpose.

How do you know what your gifts are and where to serve? Pastor Jeff Manion says to figure out where you should serve—don’t just stand back and observe.

Instead: (1) Jump in: See where the needs are and offer help. (2) Listen to feedback: Do people acknowledge your abilities and effectiveness? (3) Cultivate your gift: Keep serving and growing in the area where God uses you to make the greatest impact!  Watch this video clip as Pastor Jeff Manion explains the importance of joining Jesus’ mission.

Ask God to guide you to your most effective place, and remember you aren’t locked in just because you start there. If it isn’t the right fit, find another area to serve and jump in there. It may take a few tries, but God will guide you.
