TODAY’S MESSAGE

Jesus is the King, whose birth we just celebrated. Instead of being born in a palace to a royal couple, he was born humbly in a stable to an engaged young woman. There was no status, no entitlement, and certainly no servants.  During his ministry, Jesus declared many times that he came to serve and not to be served. He modeled this value at the last supper by washing his disciple’s feet, a metaphor for serving. He then instructed them to do the same by serving one another.

Jesus came to serve, and we should follow his example. Over the next several months at Ada Bible, we will focus on serving and what that looks like. We will emphasize many facets such as serving inside our church and communities or serving with our families, small groups and friends. Begin praying now about where to jump in. One place to start is to look for ways to serve outside of our church. Visit our missions page to find many opportunities to serve locally.
