March 25 | Don’t Lose Heart

March 25, 2020

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

Because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to himself. 2 Corinthians 4:14

Read: 2 Corinthians 4:7-16

Listen: 2 Corinthians 4

TODAY’S MESSAGE

Paul was no stranger to suffering. Paul and his team experienced a season that felt like a death sentence while serving in Ephesus. They knew they couldn’t rely on themselves. Instead they relied on God, who could even raise the dead (2 Corinthians 1:8-9). Paul’s ultimate hope wasn’t that everything would be fixed here and now. He focused on his future with Christ.

We don’t lose heart because of Jesus. The promised resurrection provides hope even if the relationship dissolves, unemployment lasts long-term or a health crisis remains. An eternal perspective allows us to say, “This will pass, even if it doesn’t pass here and now.”

The one who raised Christ Jesus to victory from the most horrific death will also raise us to himself one day. God will make all things new. All who believe in Jesus will enjoy a resurrected body, on a resurrected earth, in the presence of our resurrected Lord. This hope and promise can never be taken away.
