TODAY’S MESSAGE

The Way of the Wise is our new sermon series based on the book of Proverbs. Proverbs contains a collection of sayings gathered mostly by King Solomon to provide general wisdom for life lived according to God’s instructions. Known as “wisdom literature,” these short, compact statements offer practical truth about human behavior. These wise teachings often feature three main characters: the wise, the foolish and the simple. Many proverbs describe results or consequences for a particular action or trait, but should not to be taken as promises.

As we journey through this series together with our church community, we will engage in The Wisdom Challenge. Each day READ the chapter of Proverbs corresponding with the date. Choose one proverb from each day’s chapter to WRITE out by hand, either in a journal or on a notecard. SHARE your chosen proverb with someone and explain how it impacted you. These wise, godly teachings will shape our daily lives and help us choose a way that follows God’s instructions as we journey through Proverbs together.

Focusing on one proverb a day will allow its wisdom to sink into our hearts and minds. Over time, these teachings will form a new path for our lives, one marked by following God’s wise instructions.
