TODAY’S MESSAGE

We often ask, “How did I ever get here?” when we find ourselves in the middle of a bad situation. The author of Proverbs, King Solomon, has that in mind when he advises his son how important it is to stay on the right path. There was no GPS or Google Maps in Solomon’s time, so heading toward an unfamiliar place could lead to paths branching off the main road to the edge of a cliff and death. Having an experienced guide was essential.

Solomon makes the point that there are paths in life that either will develop or destroy us. Sometimes we accidentally find ourselves in the wrong place. But too often, we get to the wrong place because of a choice we made to ignore good guidance when we were fully aware of the danger.

This week we will look at how to guard our hearts and stay on the path of the wise. In his Word, God has given us what we need to know about the difference between right and wrong, and how to follow the path that leads away from destruction.
