#AdaWisdomChallenge

READ Proverbs 10 (listen). WRITE out one verse and SHARE with someone.

Proverbs 10 is the beginning of the proverbs of Solomon (Proverbs 10-22). These proverbs are typically two contrasting lines, giving instruction on how to live out wisdom in all of life. Proverbs 10 contrasts the righteous/wicked, wisdom/folly, proper/improper speech and work/sloth.

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

TODAY’S MESSAGE

Solomon is sure his son won’t wander into a healthy heart. It’s not something that just happens. He knows it takes intention, focus and action. It takes purpose.

We won’t wander into a healthy heart either. It won’t happen if we’re on “cruise control” or just floating through life. Like Solomon’s son, it will take purpose for us too.

We know that a healthy heart and a life that pleases God is not accidental. We don’t just swerve into it. Good health—whether physical, emotional and (especially) spiritual—requires intention and purpose.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

This week, we’ve asked you to make some decisions about investing in and guarding your heart. Deciding to change is significant. The next step is to tell someone. Text a friend, tell your spouse or share it with your small group. Then permit them to ask you how you’re doing in the weeks ahead. Also, trust in God’s Spirit to give you the strength and perseverance needed as you make these changes invest in and guard your heart.
