TODAY’S MESSAGE

The Bible is the best selling book in the history of the world. As Pastor John Dickson noted this weekend, it sells more and more copies every year and has been the number one seller every year in history, except for 2007. While it is the most sold and read book in history, why is it so popular?

People have struggled with a number of deep questions throughout all of human history. Four of these questions are: why the beauty, why the ugly, where is God and what resolution is there? All the major belief systems (Buddhism, Hinduism, Atheism, Islam and Christianity) answer these questions.

However, part of the popularity of the Bible is that it offers some unique and compelling answers to these questions. From the beginning of the Bible, we learn that God created the world as good. It also tells us that something went wrong and that God cares about the resolution. This week we are going to dive into the first two questions: “Why the beauty? Why the ugly?” Next week, we will look at the second two: “Where is God? What resolution is there?”

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY
