TODAY’S MESSAGE

The Earth is incredibly beautiful. All it takes is a peak outside on an early fall morning to see the beauty and intricacy of our world. Big things like the sun and moon produce light and work together with small things such as cells to create color in the leaves. Looking closely, we are captured by the beauty around us but also wonder at the order and complexity. The world works so well, so we rarely stop to consider why.

Many people believe that the origins of the universe come from disorder, and there is no rhyme or reason for what happens. The Bible tells a different story. Christians look at the first chapters of the Bible and see how God created a good world with order.

However, it gets better. Not only is the world beautiful, but it is also a gift from our good God. We read in 1 Timothy 4 that everything God created is good and should be received with thanksgiving. Everything brims around us with significance because God created it for us to enjoy. Christians who know the goodness of creation can live in this world understanding that everything—the body, each other, the sun and more—are all part of a good creation from a good God.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Let’s notice and receive this amazing creation with thankfulness. As you go out in the world today, find moments to slow down and see the creation God made for us. Then spend time thanking him for all the beauty around you.
