TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

When she heard about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak, because she thought, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” Mark 5:27-28

Read: Mark 5:25-34

Listen: Mark 5

TODAY’S MESSAGE

The woman in our verses today had suffered bleeding for twelve years and spent all her money on doctors, only to get worse. She’s unclean by Jewish law, a social outcast shunned by others. In this real crisis, she hears about Jesus. With fear and trembling, she summons her courage to reach out and touch him.

She is a very brave woman. Though her faith is small, Jesus is hugely powerful. “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.” These words should move us to tears. Jesus’ power is transferred to her grief and suffering—and she is healed! Watch this video clip as Pastor Manion explains the impact of her healing.

There is something about our trust that activates the power of God!  When we reach out to him, his power reaches back. Our crisis may not go away, but some of him will be transferred to us in a powerful unexplainable way. God wants to be trusted in the midst of our crisis. He will meet us right where we are when we reach out.
