While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. Luke 2:6-7

TODAY’S MESSAGE
Picture a school auditorium this Christmas morning. With the question, “Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?” hanging in the air, a young boy takes center stage. The house lights dim, and the spotlight envelops the boy. On cue, he recites the Christmas story from Luke 2. With no ambiguity, he tells us what Christmas is all about.
You’ve probably seen Linus Van Pelt recite this dozens of times in “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” first airing in 1965. It’s a great way to begin our Christmas celebration too, especially with small children. You can watch it here.
Don’t miss the impact of the telling. Born that day, in the town of Bethlehem, was the Savior of the world, the Anointed One, the Lord. This year, perhaps more so than others, we need a Savior. Rejoice! Rejoice! Our Rescuer has come! The spotlight is on Him!
