TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he [Jesus] explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. Luke 24:27

Read: Luke 24:13-35
Listen:
Luke 24

TODAY’S MESSAGE

It was seven miles between Jerusalem and Emmaus—and two guys were hoofing it all the way. At some point on the journey, an unrecognizable third man joins them as they discuss all they had experienced. Their conversation was about the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. The two men were astonished the newcomer was so oblivious to such a significant event.

As they continue to Emmaus, the third man begins to do something unexpected. Using the Old Testament, he explains to them exactly what it was they had seen and experienced. At the table later for the evening meal, the third man blesses the bread, and the two men finally recognize that the newcomer is actually Jesus! Immediately, they head back the seven miles to Jerusalem to tell everyone.

Jesus wants us to invite him into our lives. In Revelation 3:20, the resurrected Jesus is described as knocking on the door of our hearts. He wants us to let him in. He wants to fellowship with us as he did with the two men in Emmaus.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

The Easter season is a great time to open the door of your heart and invite Jesus in. You can start this relationship with a simple prayer, “Jesus, I open my heart and life to you. Please come in.” If you’ve taken this first step, no matter when you’ve done it, we’d love to talk with you about what is next. Contact us at btw@adabible.org and we’ll schedule a conversation. Congratulations on taking this most important step!
