TODAY’S MESSAGE
Jesus prays for God’s will to be done, not just in heaven but here and now on earth. God’s will may seem like a mystery or puzzle we try to figure out all our lives. But it’s not. God’s will isn’t a hidden path but one lighted by his Word (Psalm 119:105).
God’s Word speaks clearly about his will. Paul teaches we live out God’s will as we pray and give thanks in every situation (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). Scripture reveals God’s desire for us to “act justly, love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God” (Micah 6:8). The author of Hebrews reminds us God has spoken to us through his son Jesus (Hebrews 1:2). We see God’s will modeled in the life and words of Jesus in the Gospel accounts of his life.
Our culture often contradicts God’s Word and his will. The Apostle Paul urges us to not be conformed by the world around us but to be renewed by God (Romans 12:2). We are conformed by the world when turn to our newsfeeds, social media or conversations with others to form our opinions and feelings. But when we read, study and internalize God’s Word—God shapes and molds us instead. Watch this video clip as Pastor Aaron Buer shares the importance of being renewed by the Word.
