TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. Matthew 7:13b

Read: Matthew 7:13-14
Listen:
Matthew 7

TODAY’S MESSAGE

The great thing about roads is they lead to places. The start of a wonderful vacation begins with enthusiasm and a full tank of gas. The bad thing about roads is we can choose the wrong one and end up in Ohio instead of at Michigan Adventure.

Jesus tells us about two roads—one leading to life, the other to death. The wider road is the easiest to travel. It’s the choice of those who prefer to live their own way and find it acceptable to get revenge on those who hurt them, lie to get what they want or wound people who get in their way. Jesus says the wide road leads to death because it corrupts our hearts and is potentially harmful to others. It also leads to eternity without God. Watch this video clip as Pastor Jeff Manion explains.

The narrower road leads to life. It’s found only by believing in and following Jesus. People on this road recognize their selfish behavior, yield to God and trust in him to help them find forgiveness, give love generously and accept those who look and think differently from them. This road leads to God’s eternal Kingdom.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

If you haven’t done so already, you can start on the narrow road today by praying, “Jesus, thank you for dying in my place to pay for my sins. I accept your gift and would like to follow you as the leader of my life. Amen.” We’d love to know if you prayed this prayer. Email us at btw@adabible.org so we can support and encourage you.
