TODAY’S MESSAGE

Paul shared the Jesus-message around the region in a previous missionary trip. He now embarks on a second trip to strengthen the faith of the young believers and churches he helped form. But as he does, his eye is on Ephesus. The city is Paul’s ultimate destination. He sees an incredible opportunity for the Gospel to impact the leading cultural town in the region. It’s as though Paul knows what God might do there could be a turning point for the spread of the Gospel message.

There will be moments in our lives when the fact strikes us that God may be presenting us with an opportunity to make an impact for him. A co-worker asks a couple of questions at work, and we sense he is searching for a greater meaning in his life. A neighbor moves in, and after a few conversations, it seems she’s hurting beneath the surface. Our kids’ friends love hanging out at our place, and pizza and popsicles turn into meaningful conversations. We sense God may desire to move in, through and beyond us. Watch this video clip as Pastor Jeff Manion shares the importance of seizing these opportunities.

The opportunities that come our way may not be on the scale of Ephesus, but they are still important. Each opportunity God presents to share his love with the people around us can have a ripple effect in their lives and countless others. We do our part, and we can trust God to do his.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Ask God to open your eyes during this sermon series to seize opportunities to share his love. Then, write any names he brings to mind on page 12 of your Jesus & The City journal. Commit to praying for them and inviting them to join you for a weekend service or small group.
