TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. James 1:5

Read: James 1:5
Listen:
James 1

TODAY’S MESSAGE

James reminds his readers to ask God for wisdom when they face challenging situations. They can trust God’s generosity to give wisdom when they don’t know what is right or what they should do. These believers know God wants to help them because they’ve seen his incredible generosity through Jesus’s sacrifice for them on the cross. They know the Gospel of Jesus, and it has radically changed and shaped their lives. When they needed God most, he provided a way through Jesus.

The same is true for us. God gave us what we needed through Jesus long before we knew we needed it. “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). He has given us the wisdom to turn to Jesus to follow him and entrust our entire lives to him. When we face difficulties, we too can take them to God and confidently ask for his wisdom. Every adversity provides another opportunity to trust him, just like we did that first time we turned to him and put our trust in Christ. Watch this video clip as Pastor Aaron Buer shares the generosity of God through Jesus.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Write out a prayer asking for wisdom in a particular situation. Ask for God’s help to take action as he reveals what you should do and write on your 26 DAYS OF GRATITUDE handout how he helps you. If you’ve never invited God into your life, let him know you’d like to begin a relationship with him today. If you’d like to chat with someone about what it means to have a relationship with God through Jesus, please email btw@adabible.org. We would love to talk with you.
