TODAY’S MESSAGE

The way we live is a foundation of spiritual influence but words are necessary too. Paul emphasizes to the Ephesians leaders about how he lived before them and the way he declared the gospel of Jesus Christ. For us, the way we live out faith and words we speak about Jesus matter.

Living humbly gives us chances to share our faith in Jesus with others. Coworkers wonder how we treat everyone with respect and kindness. Friends ask why we orient our time and finances around generosity. Family notices character changes and ask questions. For each of us, it looks different and none of us will be perfect. However, we ought to be ready to share the great news of Jesus Christ when God opens a door.

When God does open a door, it can be intimidating to know what to say. Pastor John Dickson shared some ideas in Sharing Your Faith Naturally. One tip is to use little bits of Jesus’s life to share our faith. Point to the Gospel and to Jesus himself. Jesus is at the foundation of our faith, but even most unbelievers respect him. Let Jesus be the center of the conversation. May our gracious God give us opportunities to share about him and may he use our imperfect efforts to bring people to himself.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Pray today that God would give you an opportunity to share your faith. Pray that he would give you the courage to step in and the words to speak. For some tips on how to share your faith naturally, check out the video of John Dickson from Sharing Your Faith Naturally.
