February 18 | Committing to God

February 18, 2022

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.” Acts 20:32

Read: Acts 20:32
Listen:
Acts 20

TODAY’S MESSAGE

Paul gathers with the Ephesian church leaders (whom he loves dearly) for the last time. He knows trouble is coming, and many believers in Ephesus will fall prey to the enemy and let distortions draw them from the truth. Some of them will even turn against God and become destructive to the well-being of the Jesus community. He wants church leaders to prepare.

We can experience the same kind of heartbreak when we see those we love fall prey to the enemy and walk away from their faith. It may be a close friend, spouse, or child who claims Jesus as Savior but chooses a path away from God that leads to destruction.

Paul commits his Christian family to God and the word of his grace—and so should we. When fellow believers are drawn away from God, at the end of the day, we need to release them into the hands of our gracious God, who loves them more than we do. Continue to pray for them and demonstrate love and mercy the same way Jesus does.
