TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“Haven’t you read this passage of Scripture: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. Mark 12:10

Read: Mark 12:10-12
Listen:
Mark 12

TODAY’S MESSAGE

Jesus wraps up the story of the vineyard owner and tenant farmers by referencing Psalm 118:22-23. The cornerstone is pretty essential. Any building requires a foundational stone to secure the building. This is called the cornerstone. It’s the most critical piece that determines how everything else is done.

Just as Jesus was the son in the parable, Jesus is the cornerstone. He is the foundation of what God is doing and will do in the world. We respect him when we make him the cornerstone of our lives. This means building everything in our life around him, not just sprinkling him on top of what we are doing.

To build a life around Jesus takes both a one-time decision to follow him and a lifetime of slow and steady growth. At Ada Bible Church, we talk about three areas of growth: the Row (weekend services), the Circle (small groups) and the Chair (daily time with God). Engaging in these three things helps us make Jesus the cornerstone to build our lives.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Return to the memory verse for this month, Galatians 5:22-23. It focuses on the fruit of the Spirit. As we grow in faith, this fruit is what the Holy Spirit develops in us. May we be inspired to pursue this fruit this month and always.
