TODAY’S MESSAGE

We kick off a new sermon series this weekend called THE BIBLE. The Bible is the story of God and people. Thousands of years ago, the Psalmist shares the value of God’s word with us. The author writes that the truths of God’s word are eternal, endure and preserve life. Meditating on God’s word gives insight for life choices and protects people from doing the wrong things.

Psalmist has a high appreciation for God’s word. He writes, “How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” (Psalm 119:103). It’s like God’s word is better than the most delicious dessert. It’s better than ice cream, apple pie or chocolate! God’s word forms the foundation of the writer’s life. It helps him know God and know how to live.

The Psalmist provides a compelling vision for us of what it looks like to fall in love with God’s word. It is no less essential for us today as we seek to know God and how to live the way he created for us. God’s word can do all the same things for us—if we let it.
