TODAY’S MESSAGE

Hundreds of years later, God sends his son Jesus through Abraham’s family. Jesus does what Adam and Israel could never do and follows God perfectly. He resists temptation and the lies of God’s enemy, Satan. He lives a sinless life and is put to death on a Roman cross though he committed no crimes. Jesus’s death and resurrection defeat the rebellion and pay for the death sin brought in the garden.

The Apostle Paul teaches how God reconciles all things to himself through Jesus. God makes peace with us and restores our broken relationship through Jesus’s blood. Jesus calls people to follow him and show others what God’s kingdom is like. He teaches people to forgive, love and serve as he does. He invites people to join him in this work. God still desires people to know, reflect and partner with him.

Through Jesus’s story, we see how to live. He sets in motion the restoration God promised from the beginning. He restores our relationship with God, each other and the world. As we come and trust him, he continues to write restoration stories in our lives. Jesus provides a glimpse of the full restoration of all things yet to come. Watch this video clip as Pastor Aaron Buer shares the restoration God brings through Jesus’s death on the cross.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

If you’ve never invited Jesus into your life now is a great time. If you’ve previously invited him in, take a moment to thank him for the restoration work he’s doing in your life. “Jesus, I admit I need your restoration in my life. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin. I invite you into my life. I desire to follow you and be part of your work in the world. Amen.” If you’d like to talk with someone about following Jesus, please email us at btw@adabible.org.
