TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

TODAY’S MESSAGE
The man born blind doesn’t follow Jesus immediately after Jesus heals his blindness. He comes to faith in progressing steps. He first understands that it was actually Jesus who places mud on his eyes (John 9:11). He then recognizes that Jesus has to be one sent from God, like one of the prophets (John 9:17). He finally believes that Jesus is who he says he is: the Promised One and the Messiah who was to redeem Israel (John 9:38). He does this even after he is tossed out of the synagogue!
This is often how we come to faith in Jesus, even if we think it happens in a moment. Watch this video clip as Pastor Jeff Manion describes how we too discover Jesus in a progression. Maybe a life situation prompts you to explore faith, a friend invites you to church or things begin to make sense as questions are answered. As you hear about Jesus, you eventually place your faith and trust in him for the forgiveness of your sins.
Coming to faith in steps means we need to keep moving. The temptation is to give up and stop taking steps. But no matter if you’re still asking questions or been a Jesus-follower for years—we all have room to grow in our faith. Keep moving on your spiritual journey!
