For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 1 Corinthians 12:13
The New Testament writers make one thing clear—God’s church was not to be a building. That doesn’t mean a church can’t meet in a building or own a building. But the church is so much more. This series has given us a taste of what the church community is supposed to be like. It’s a family that we belong to. It’s a body that we participate in. It’s a beautiful bride because of what we do and what Jesus has done. It’s a temple where God is to be experienced and also declared.
When we reduce church to a building we go to once a week, it becomes something easy. It’s a task we can tack onto where we want to go in life. When we take what the Bible says about the church seriously, we see that it makes demands on our life. It requires a level of commitment to God and others. It asks us to forgive those who may hurt us like they are family. It calls us to use our gifts to serve others. It encourages us to help each other get ready as the bride of Christ. It places us in the center of where God wants to be revealed to the world.

My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.
