Listen:
Daniel 6

TODAY’S MESSAGE

The other top officials decide to do something after they learn that the king wants to promote Daniel. They plot against him, hoping to kill him and get him out of their way. However, as a man of such great work ethic and character, they can find no basis for charges against Daniel. This speaks a great deal about Daniel and his character. It seems he not only does good work but does it with good character as well.

Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Even though these words were written well after the life of Daniel, he seems to live them out. It seems that the work we do and the attitude we do it with ARE spiritual AND matter to God.

We can all think of people who bring their best effort and character to their work. It’s noticeable and compelling. Like Daniel, we each have the opportunity to bring our best to our daily tasks for God’s honor. This means not cutting corners so we can stand behind the product, parenting well even when no one is watching, or simply treating your coworkers with respect even if they are not returning the favor. The work and the character we bring matter deeply to God.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

MATTHEW 11:28-30
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
