TODAY’S MESSAGE

Peter was a disciple of Jesus and spent three years walking and talking with him. He saw how Jesus handled many situations and experienced Jesus’s love in action as he cared for those who came to him. Jesus treated each person with respect and welcomed them. Peter saw it firsthand. And Peter instructs Jesus-followers to do the same. Peter says to show respect to everyone. A common theme throughout the Bible is that all people are created in the image of God and worthy of respect and dignity. This means a person’s value comes not from the decisions they’ve made but from the God who made them.

This principle is so vital for us today. Pastor Aaron Buer talked this weekend about how important it is for us to respect and love those in our culture and our church who identify as LGBTQ+. He challenged us as a church to grow in our ability to show respect and love to those in the LGBTQ+ community and others while still holding to the truth of the Bible. Watch as Pastor Aaron talks about how we can live in that tension as individuals and grow as a church.
