… that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. Romans 8:21
Our world isn’t working like God originally designed it. God created our world to be perfect in form and function. Then Adam and Eve rebelled against God. And humanity continues to rebel. Our world is messed up and broken. Natural disasters. Famine. Disease. War. Death. These things should not be, and they are our fault.
But that’s not all it can be. God loves us and intervened. Because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross, sin and suffering don’t have the final word. God’s Word says a day is coming when creation will be liberated from death and corruption. This means the cross isn’t just about us. It is about the restoration of ALL things. Jesus’s death and resurrection are the down payment for this restoration. As beautiful as creation is now, we really haven’t seen anything yet. Because of the cross, creation will be transformed one day in ways we cannot imagine.
IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY
Think of ways to push back against the brokenness in our world personally. One way is to give financially to the relief efforts in Turkey and Syria. An Ada Bible Church partner in this effort is Samaritan’s Purse. You can give to earthquake relief here.
