TODAY’S MESSAGE

Revelation is written by John, the beloved Apostle and eyewitness of Jesus’s ministry. John receives a revelation from Jesus himself (Revelation 1:1-3) proclaiming his return to set up his kingdom on a new and re-created earth. This vision is dominated by many symbolic word pictures and metaphors not meant to give detailed answers of where, when and how. It’s a message from Jesus to give his followers future hope.

There is no doubt God created us to dwell with him as we wrap up our THE DWELLING PLACE series. He’s always been moving near to people. We see it when he dwells with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden up until they disobey and are ejected. We see it in the plan he unfolds to get us back starting at the tabernacle (tent) in the wilderness, to the temple in Jerusalem, to his son Jesus, to us (through the Holy Spirit), to the end of the plan when Jesus returns.

The story God creates in us is anticipation for Jesus’s second coming. It ushers in the final phase of God’s plan to dwell with us forever in the new heaven and earth that mirrors the Garden of Eden. This is the hope of Christ’s victory over sin and death fulfilled for all who believe in him as Savior. It is a hope our lost and confused world needs to know. God promises a world with no more tears or pain (Revelation 21:4). A world where we live with him. What could be better?!?

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Pray today in gratitude, “Thank you God for longing to dwell with me and having a plan to live with me for all eternity. I’m grateful for the hope that lies in Jesus’s death for me on the cross, so I don’t have to guess about my future. I look forward to spending eternity with you! Amen.” Then spend time worshiping God with our worship team singing, “Revelation Song.”
