February 25 | God Who Provides

February 25, 2020

TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.” Genesis 22:14

Read: Genesis 22:10-14

Listen: Genesis 22

TODAY’S MESSAGE

Abraham had walked with God long enough to know God as Provider. God made a way out of the mess Abraham made with Pharaoh (Genesis 12:17-20). God delivered Abraham’s enemies into his hands during battle (Genesis 14:13-20). God brought laughter and joy with the promised son, Isaac (Genesis 21:6-7). God’s provision was not dependent on Abraham. God worked through His own power.

God continues to provide through his power in our lives today. We see his hand through an unexpected check to cover a bill or a coincidental encounter with a friend during a dark season. We experience his provision with unexplainable peace, a way out of sin and wisdom as we walk through uncertainty.

No matter how impossible our situations may be, we can trust he is a God who provides. Jesus urges us not to worry about our lives, for our Heavenly Father knows our needs (Matthew 6:25-34). We move from worry to trust as we remember God’s promises and previous provisions.

IN YOUR CHAIR TIME TODAY

Recount the ways you’ve seen God provide in your life. Make a list in a journal or type a note on your mobile device. Thank God for his past provision and ask him to grow your trust in his provision for the future.
