TODAY’S MESSAGE

Today’s verses come from a critical point in Israel’s history. God wants to have a longstanding relationship with the Israelites once they enter the Promised Land and gives them instructions (the Ten Commandments) about how to do that. He tells them to love God with all their heart, teach this to their children and build their lives around these instructions.

Guest Pastor Dickson told us that trusting the Scripture isn’t just a matter of the intellect. Watch this video clip as Pastor John talks about how the best way to trust the Bible is to “get to know it.” Like a friend, we will develop a relationship with God’s words and trust it more when we spend time with it. There are passages to walk us through difficult seasons and wise words to help us handle tough situations.

Today’s verses tell us several ways to get to know God’s Word. A good place to start is with our 2022 Bible Memory Practice. Perhaps we talk about meaningful Bible verses with our family and others. Maybe we sit with one passage for a little while and think on it throughout the day, letting this passage become a friend that lifts us in our current season. For us all, trusting the Bible begins with getting to know it.
